About The House Key

A website with an ambition to communicate to everyone who needs support at home
The House Key aims to provide good quality information to the public about services to help them in their day to day living at home. We call these 'housing support services'. As well as this website, a series of printed directories will be available shortly, and a telephone Advice Line is also planned. Services are provided by both Local Authorities and independent organisations. Some are for particular groups of people (eg. older people, or people with disabilities), others for anyone who needs them. Your Local Authority may help pay through the Supporting People programme, and we explain how this works, and who to contact.

Community

All housing support service providers are invited to contribute to The House Key
The House Key aims to become the definitive source of information about housing support services for people of all ages and backgrounds. We want it to go further than simply listing your services, and communicate to your potential service users exactly what they do, and how they differ in content, style or ethos to those of other providers. We want to make available your brochures, leaflets, presentations, videos, sound recordings, photographs - whatever materials will help our site users understand what you offer, and how this might help and suit them.
