Core and Cluster housing

Definition: This is a model of supported housing

Core and Cluster housing is a model of supported housing, comprising core accommodation and cluster accommodation. Usually the core unit is within one building where there is a staff office, accommodation for a limited number of residents, and communal facilities. Cluster accommodation usually comprises self contained flats located nearby, where residents live more independently than in the core, although they will still receive support from staff based in the core. Often residents in the core will move to cluster accommodation when their independence improves.
