Common Housing Register
Definition: Common Housing Register
This is a concept promoted by government to simplify the process of applying for social housing in any area. A group of landlords (usually Local Authority and Registered Social Landlord's) agree to have one Housing Register and one application form. Applicants, when prioritised, can be considered for housing by all the participating social landlords in that area. Most Local Authorities are now implementing or working towards this model.
